Photo of the Week: U of L campus expansion

With so many major construction projects at the University of Louisville, including the new downtown arena, the expanded football stadium, and the ever-growing medical school, it would be easy to overlook dozens of smaller efforts to improve the school's main campus. The latest Photo of the Week shows one of those projects: a new residential and retail center at the corner of Cardinal Boulevard and Third Street.

According to a recent story in The Courier-Journal, the project will cost $55 million and bring the following businesses to campus: Comfy Cow Ice Cream and Desserts, Papalino's Pizza, Heine Bros. Coffee, Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Shop, Home Run Burgers & Fries, and Qdoba Mexican Grill. It's expected to be finished by next fall.
